Thursday, December 11th was the opening of a freshly-curated exhibit 13 Days of Violence. Friend of Party With Consent, Sara Catalan curated the exhibit with pieces by artists from Spain to the Canary Island. The theme of the exhibit was visual art as a platform to show the epidemic of men’s violence against women. Jonathan Kalin, founder of Party With Consent, was fortunate enough to be asked to speak at the opening party of the exhibit.
Kalin explained the story of how Party With Consent came to be and concluded, “my effort in preventing men’s violence against women is to reveal to men that a non-violent life should not only be labeled as the right thing to do or the responsible thing to do. Living in communities free from domestic violence and sexual assault is connected to our own liberation.”
